Pancakes!
We made our own (some out of
chocolate) and had a flipping race -
then we all tucked in.

Beaver Babble:
We have started to get ready for Beaver Babble by practicing putting up tents, knotting, trying out games and designing our own badge.

Remembrance day 2011

The Sunday Remembrance service this year was in St. Andrew's church. There was also a service at the War Memorial on Armistice Day itself. Beavers helped clear the churchyard and memorial green before the service so it looked really tidy.

I.C.T. Badge

Beavers took over the school's ICT suite to practice their computer skills.

A Record Breaking Beaver Babble

The weekend was part of the record breaking Giant Sleepover weekend. All the Beavers were getting excited and looking forward to seeing who would win the badge competition which would worn by all beavers and leaders for the coming year.
On Saturday morning the beavers with their parent started to arrive and get settled in for the weekend. The opening ceremony was nearly upon us but there was just time for the Group photo.

Everyone took part in the balloons with plant markers with contact details and added their name to them, some traditional scouting games, made catapults, rope making, backwoods cooking, string trail and aerial runway. After all the activities everyone gathered round the flag pole and all the beavers released their balloons high into the sky. The furthest one reached Germany!!
The beavers looked forward to their tea cooked by our Fellowship members.
After everything was washed up everyone had their whistles they made earlier around their necks and headed for the camp fire and a sing song.

Cocoa and biscuits followed and everyone was ready for bed and a good nights sleep.

Next morning after breakfast the beavers were split into two groups - one learnt about what scouts did many years ago and their uniform while the others had a Doody skills session and then swopped over.

All too soon the activities were over and each Beaver was given a 'goodie bag' for taking part in the Giant Sleepover. The closing ceremony around the flagpole gave the beavers an opportunity to thank the Fellowship for cooking, the leaders for a memorable weekend and of course the beavers and parents for coming along. They were then presented with the Babble badge and certificate and for some their first Nights Away badge.

Everyone had a very happy Babble.
